TONIGHT | Kensington Gore and White Poppy

The final night of Wrong Wave has come. This year the festival closes with a show at SFU Woodward’s featuring performances by two Vancouver-based outfits, Kensington Gore and White Poppy.

White Poppy is the experimental brainchild of Crystal Dorval, the British Columbian multimedia artist formerly performing under her first solo project, My Friend Wallis. With White Poppy, she buries the warm, washed tonalities of her earlier sound within a richer range of guitar and keyboard. Take a listen here.

Kensington Gore is comprised of Stephen Wood and Scott Gubbels, who have been holed up over the past year or so creating a 10-song “sonic mutation” from which they’ll be performing tonight. Additionally, there will be a screening of short films created by special guests commissioned by the band.

This show wraps up the Wrong Wave festival for 2013 — don’t miss it!
