In case you missed the announcement, Red76: This Is An (A) Front: A Covert Education has been held over until December 15, which means the Thumbs Up used mp3 store and Power2012 radio station are here for the next few weeks. A new addition launched at Wrong Wave, the Peace Library, will also be at the space (more on that later). The Power2012 radio station (available at 89.7 in the zero block of East Pender or through www.power2012.ca) will remain active until around December 15, 2012, but will live on in podcast format after that.

To help accommodate last weekend’s 80(sun)/Peace Library event (part of the Wrong Wave festival), the Lower Mainland Painting Company replaced the Pitt’s “front business”, a fake convenience store, with an entirely new front. The first image below is of the former front, complete with lighters, candies, fuses, and condoms, and the second is LMPC’s not-quite-trompe-l’oeil version of the fake store. Behind the “wall” you can still find Thumbs Up, a library of books about power, Power2012’s broadcast setup, and now Sharona Franklin and Tanner Matt’s Peace Library.
